Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
There’s no need for any particular preparation for the first session. During our first meeting, we will get to know each other, we will explore your current situation and discuss what you hope to achieve with therapy.
This is a safe space for you to share openly and ask any questions you might have.
At the end, we’ll discuss together if and how to continue, making sure the approach fits your needs.
I can offer therapy sessions in Dutch, English and Italian, according to your preferences.
Online sessions are possible, but in-person therapy is strongly recommended and preferred due to the body-oriented nature of the work.
Body-oriented therapy helps you connect with the signals your body is sending, such as tension, pain, or discomfort, and understand how these physical sensations relate to your emotions and thoughts.
It offers a safe space to explore and release physical and emotional blockages, supporting you to restore balance and wellbeing.
Sessions are gentle and paced according to your needs. You’ll learn to tune into your body, increase awareness, and develop tools to manage stress and emotional challenges more effectively.
Overall, it’s a holistic approach that integrates mind and body to promote healing and personal growth.
Absolutely not. I offer body-oriented therapy to adults of all ages. Each excercise is personalized and tailored to your needs, desires, and personal goals.
The pace of progress is different for everyone and depends on various factors, such as the nature of your concerns, your personal goals, and the frequency of sessions.
Some people start noticing changes after just a few sessions, for example feeling more clarity, emotional relief, or a better understanding of themselves.
For others, especially when working on deeper or long-standing patterns, the process can take more time.
We will regularly reflect together on how things are going, and adjust the process based on your evolving needs.
Therapy is not always linear, but with commitment and collaboration, meaningful progress is very much possible.
In general, our journey together will be as brief as possible and as long as truly helpful.
Absolutely. You can stop therapy at any time. There is no obligation to continue if you feel that the process is no longer right for you.
Ideally, we would have a final session to reflect on your journey and ensure a proper closure, but the decision is entirely up to you. Therapy is a voluntary process, and your autonomy is always respected.
If you have doubts or feel unsure along the way, we can always take time to discuss them together.
I only offer individual therapy, but I can support you with relational and/or communication challenges by providing practical guidance tailored to your situation.
Deciding if therapy is right for you can feel challenging.
Therapy offers a safe space to explore your feelings, understand yourself better, and work towards the changes you want.
If you're experiencing stress, anxiety, emotional difficulties, or simply feel stuck and want support, therapy might be a helpful step.
You’re always welcome to reach out for a free initial session (free introductory meeting) to see if it feels like a good fit for you.
Therapy is most effective when it offers you a space to focus fully on yourself, without external influences. For this reason, individual sessions are held one-on-one.
However, if there's a specific reason you’d like someone to join (for example, to support you during the first session or to discuss a relationship issue), please let me know in advance.
We can decide together whether it would be helpful for them to be present, and for how long.
Not at all. While therapy can be incredibly supportive during times of crisis, you don’t have to wait for things to get “serious” before reaching out.
Therapy can be helpful at any stage — whether you're facing a big challenge or simply want to better understand yourself.
It can also be a space for self-reflection, growth, and building resilience — helping you navigate everyday challenges before they become overwhelming.
Taking care of your mental and emotional wellbeing early on can make a big difference in the long run.
There’s no perfect moment to begin therapy — sometimes people reach out during a crisis, other times when they feel stuck or simply want to grow.
You don’t need to have a “serious” problem to benefit. Therapy can be helpful for gaining insight, building emotional tools, or navigating life changes.
If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to reach out for an initial session or ask questions.
The section ''How I can Help - Focused Areas'' gives you an overview of the problematics I work with and how I may be able to support you.
Sessions are typically held weekly.
Weekly sessions provide a steady and reliable space to address challenges, explore emotions, and set as well as monitor goals.
Meeting each week allows you to process feelings and issues as they arise, helping you recognize patterns and keep progress moving forward.
Regular sessions also play a key role in building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship.
It's completely normal to feel some emotional discomfort during therapy — especially when exploring difficult experiences or feelings.
While this can be challenging, it’s often a meaningful part of the healing process. We move at your pace, and I’ll support you in working through any emotions that arise, in a safe and grounded way.
Your well-being is always the priority, and we can always pause, slow down, or adjust the focus whenever needed.
